"It smelled like candy!??! Grrrrrr" "You're kidding, right? Soap????" "Oh well, it does smell good!!" (Emilee above, Jennifer, our daughter in bottom picture)
OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY IS COMING!! WE STARTED MAKING SOAP OCTOBER 1. 2007
Just a little background about us....we started the soap business after a lot of research, hunting down the right oils, recipes, molds, goat milk, etc. It did take quite awhile to hunt down the lye. Since Indiana has passed laws about lye, it wasn't easy to find it, for one. Another, you had to practically promise them your first born just to get it. We finally got everything we needed......and lots that we didn't!!!
The first step was to finally make a batch:) Ahhhh, finally!! Not so! We had heard so many horror stories on how not to, how to, what to, when to about lye and soap, to tell the truth, we almost were ready to hang up the towel and quit even before we got started.
OK....let's do this!!! Dressed in our goggles, long shirts, long pants, rubber gloves, (the only thing missing was the tentacles coming out of our heads and we would have made pretty good Martians!!) WE STARTED!!!
Now we just love it!!! We truly hope you love it also!! If you have a scent you would like us to make, and we are able to find a quality scent, we will definitely make it. One suggestion we've received was for Sage/Citris. We are looking to add this scent soon. These soaps do not leave the dreaded scum in the shower/tub, and they leave your skin silky smooth!!
WARNING: We do state on each bar, NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION!! That's how good they smell. Emilee, my son Dan's three years old, said "Mmmmmmmmmm." "Honey, it's soap", says Nana. "Ewwwwww", says Emilee. "I told you it was SOAP, Emilee!!!" LOL
