It's bonfire time!!!! The family already has had some mores, but here is a great idea!! PIE IRONS! A Pie Iron is a mold of cast iron or aluminum, with handles. Each side also serves as a small skillet. Bread is placed in first and then the filling into the generous cooking cavity. The two sides close and are then placed over hot coals.
You can make anything from apple/cherry pies, pizza, peanut butter and chocolate, reuben's, to sausage and eggs. Here is a basic idea on how to make them:

Bread
Can of Favorite Pie Filling
Directions:Butter a slice of bread and lay it butter side down on the iron. Open the pie filling and spoon some on the bread (not so much that it squirts out though!) Place another slice of bread on top, butter side up and close the pie iron. Place in coals of fire for a few minutes on each side, checking to make sure it doesn't burn.

Along with bonfires comes mosquitoes. We have been bombarded by mosquitoes this last week. You can't even walk across the yard without getting bit half a dozen times. We do have the answer though!!!! Bye Bye Bugz Goat milk Soap, our all natural bug repellent. I was out this morning and they were buzzing all over the dogs. I took a bar of this soap and rubbed it on their coat. It can be rubbed on tent screens, regular screens, etc. to keep this little pests away. It's pleasantly scented and works!!
