Here are two more of the sweeties, Julissa,8 and Breann, 7. Mom (my daughter, Jennifer) bought some floam. First rule to floam: If it needs mixed with a spoon, it is NOT any good anymore!!Rule number two: Do not let the little darlings play with the defective floam in the house without any adults!!!!! LOL What a mess! Well, moral: Live and Learn!!
Here's what we've learned. Another pest, this time of year, are fleas!! We have Barney's Bubbles, animal soap. Although, it's marketed for animals (cats, dogs, horses, etc), it completely natural, no chemicals and can even be used on puppies and kittens, even people. The only problem we have had is: the dogs really, really like it!! I lost a bar and another half bar, because the dogs ate it!!! And again, no chemicals, no problem!!!
Here is a nice fall recipe:
OLD DUTCH CARAMEL CORN
1 (8 oz.) bag of "Old Dutch Puff Corn Curls"
Place corn curls in large roaster pan.
CARAMEL SAUCE:
In a 2 quart saucepan cook together for 2 minutes:
1/2 lb. butter1 c. brown sugar1/2 c. light corn syrup
Add 1 teaspoon baking soda to mixture. This will cause mixture to foam so 2 quart saucepan is necessary.
Pour caramel mixture over corn curls and stir until mixed. Place in 250 degree oven for 45 minutes. Stir at least every 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and pour on wax paper. Break apart. This never fails!
